'Sankhu: Historical and Cultural Heritage' launched

KATHMANDU, May 31: A book titled ' Sankhu: Historical and Cultural Heritage' aimed at bringing the historic importance of Sankhu to the limelight has been published. Centre for Nepal and Asian Studies (CNAS) is the publisher of the book in the English language.
The 565-pages book attempts to give detailed information about the culture and lifestyle of Sankhu that lies some 18 kilometres north east from the Kathmandu Valley and its historic, religious and cultural aspects. Prof Dr Dilliraj Sharma and Prof Dr Tek Bahadur Shrestha are the writers of the book.
Tribhuvan University (TU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Tirtharaj Khaniya launched the book Monday.
It may be noted that Sankhu, an ancient Newari settlement, was worst hit by the last year's April earthquake. RSS
